Pelvic Factor Infertility
|
|
I am using the term pelvic factor infertility to refer to a wide
range of disorders that can prevent the sperm and egg from meeting
within the fallopian tube. Disorders preventing sperm normally
produced in the testes from being deposited into the vaginal vault
are discussed in the male factor section. Pelvic factor infertility
as discussed here will include
- vaginal abnormalities
- cervical mucus abnormalities
- defects in the uterine cavity
- proximal fallopian tube occlusion
- distal blockage of the fallopian tube
- endometriosis
- barriers to implantation
